We are honored to learn that our peer-reviewed research on the Contemplative Medicine Fellowship won CommonSpirit’s Academic Excellence Award in the Medical Humanities category!
CommonSpirit Health, is a national healthcare system with a vision of a hopeful, humanist future, caring for the most vulnerable and relentlessly innovating how and where healing can happen.
One of a handful of annual Physician Enterprise Awards, the Academic Excellence Award recognizes leading research advancing the practice of medicine. Selection criteria focuses on the potential for the publication to have a direct, relevant, and high-impact effect on clinical care delivery. Lead author and Fellowship alumni, Anne Kennard, MD, will present the research and introduce the Contemplative Medicine Fellowship to a national audience at the virtual Physician Enterprise Grand Rounds this Fall.
We wish to take this moment to express our gratitude to Annie and the co-authors of the publication: Fellowship Medical Director Tieraona Low Dog, MD, Jennifer Clinkenbeard, PhD, Fellowship alumni Deirdre Pachman, MD, and NYZC Executive Vice President David Iozzi, as well as the following Fellowship alumni for their contributions: Natalia Solenkova, MD; Alberto Montero, MD; and Madhavi Parikh, PA-C.
This interdisciplinary research team is an example of the collaboration, connection, and service at the heart of the Fellowship, now in its fourth year, and the growing community of contemplative practitioners, researchers, and leaders committed to addressing the real and significant challenges in caring for the suffering world.
